INVITATION

In preparation for the celebration of the CENTENARY OF URMUZ (1883-1923), the Prahova Branch of the Union of Professional Journalists from Romania is preparing an international exhibition dedicated to one of the most important Romanian avant-garde writers, precursor of surrealism and the literature of the absurd, Urmuz. We invite you to participate in this cultural project. We are waiting for portraits and caricatures of the writer URMUZ at our postal address or in the case of digital drawings at our e-mail address.

Conditions:
1. One author can take participation with 3 caricatures, but not more than 3.
2. The size of the cartoons should be A4 or A3, resolution 300 dpi.
3. The cartoons can be sent in their original version or via e-mail to:

4. The House of Culture provides the following awards:
– First prize: 300 euro
– Second prize: 200 euro

5. The works should be sent at the address:

–  The works should be sent by 1st October 2022.

8. The received caricatures will not be sent back to the participants of the competition.
9. After the announcement of the results, the awarded works from the competition need to be sent in original form because only in that way it will be paid to you.

Under the auspice of the Ministry of Culture, Fayoum Art Center is pleased to announce the details of the annual international competition for caricature & satirical portrait “CARICATUNIS 2022” 

1️⃣ Cartoon Theme: Climate Change 

Climate change challenges and their impacts on future generations are more and more visible. YOU, the ARTISTS are visionaries and foretellers. Are you the optimist that can show us how an utopian future can look like? What would our world look like in the near future if nations in collaboration with the public and private sector, civil society and development partners work together towards a much needed change. Or warn us from the dystopian outcome that awaits us if we fail to act now to save generations to come. 

2️⃣ Satirical Portrait: George Bahgoury 

Through this year’s edition we would like to celebrate the iconic Egyptian cartoonist and visual artist George Bahgoury. His influences and contributions to the Egyptian as well as the international art scene in general, and caricature in particular deserve to be highlighted by your talents. 

Conditions: 

● Open to artists from anywhere in the world 

● Works must be in JPEG format, 300 dpi, A3 size 

● Works can be black and white or color, in any style or technique

Call for the 21st International Exhibition of Graphic Humor

The humorous publication Melaíto and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba in Villa Clara call for the 21st International Exhibition of Graphic Humor Santa Clara 2022, which on this occasion is dedicated to Egypt as the guest country. 

The categories in competition will be general humor and erotic humor. The works, previously identified, will be received at the following electronic addresses: 40melaito@gmail.com; archegaleria.vc@uneac.co.cu in jpg format, at 300 dpi resolution. Each author can submit a maximum of three works per category. These will be received until the 1st November 2022. 

The jury — whose opinion will be unappealable — will be made up of prestigious cartoonists and will award three prizes per category, as well as the mentions it deems pertinent. 

The endowments are detailed below: 

First prize: 2,000 CUP and diploma. 

Second prize: 1,300 CUP and diploma. 

Third prize: 800 CUP and diploma. 

The foreign creators who are awarded will receive a work of art by a renowned Cuban artist and an accrediting diploma. 

The opening of the exhibition and award ceremony will take place on December 20, at 10:00 am at the headquarters of the Uneac Provincial Committee in Villa Clara and the results will be immediately disclosed by the media and social networks. .

29th CARTOONRENDON INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL COLOMBIA 2022

TERMS: 

1) The contest is open to all of cartoon artist worldwide. 

2) The last day for participation is on Saturday, November 5 of 2022. 

3) The contest’s Theme is: 

SMART CITIES: 

Intelligent City or Smart City is that city that is characterized by the intensive use of ICT in the creation and improvement of the systems that make up the city. It is considered intelligent when it adopts ICT intensive solutions, and develops the ability to create, collect, process and transform information to make its processes and services better and more efficient, improving the quality of life through the efficient use of its resources. 

4) Each participant can submit a maximum of three cartoons to the contest. 

5) It’s possible to participate with black and white or colored cartoons. 

6) We kindly request that those who will participate in our contest, fill out the entry form and send their cartoons digitally to contestcartoonrendon2022@gmail.com attached as a doc. in A4 size, 300 dpi, JPEG or TIFF format, a maximum of 3 MB per cartoon, including the registration form (name, surname, postal address, country, email address, short biography, photo) until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday November 5, 2022, Colombian local time. 

7) You can also participate in the contest with cartoons that have already been published or awarded previously, all the cartoons presented must be original. 

8) Selected cartoon artists will recieve a virtual catalog. 

9) The jury will be compossed by national and international cartoon artists. 

10) Results will be announced on about the end of December of 2022 and the winners must send the originals to the organization within 30 days. 

11) The presented cartoons won’t be returned, they’ll be part of the collection of the future Rionegro’s Cartoon Museum in agreement with Cartoonrendon agent. 

12) Filling out the application of participation and sending it involves that the contestants give their authorization to Rionegro’s town hall and Cartoonrendon to publish their work on any printed or digital media with all rights, including the transfer of these rights to thirds without any limit of time, place and number of publications. Besides, Rionegro’s town hall and/or Cartoonrendon will have the right to show, file and publish the works in other media not mentioned here. By sending the applicattion these conditions are considered as accepted. 

13) The organization reserves the right to exhibit works considered to attempt against individual or colective rights. 

14) The participation supposes the full acceptance of terms and conditions. 

AWARDS: They are subject to taxes according to tax regulations. And they will be paid to the TRM. 

1° Prize – 600 US 

2° Prize – 300 US 

3° Prize – 200 US

The Festival will take place between November 16 and 20, and the award ceremony on November 16, at the MAR Museum of Arts, in the city of Santiago de Arma de Rionegro.
