4. Entries:
Initially each participant can send before 15.06.2011, at most 10 works in digital form via Internet to the following address: info@iha.be The author must indicate in his e-mail the following information: his first name, last name, his complete address, his e-mail address, his phone number, his birth date, the category and the title or the number of each work. The characteristics of these electronic sending are as follows: format JPEG, good quality and max. 500 KB per picture. The organizers agree the sending of originals by post for those who do not have a computer. Out of these e-mails the jury will make a selection of 100-150 drawings and will request from the authors of these works the sending by mail of the originals for the choice of the prizes and the publication in the catalogue. All these originals will be shown in the exhibition and in the catalogue. Their size will be DIN A4 (210x297mm), good quality paper, not folded and without a passe-partout. On the back side of every work must be clearly mentioned the first name, last name, complete address, e-mail address, phone number, birth date of the author, the category as well as the title or the number of the work. This deadline is 31st of July 2011.
5. Technique:
Free, black and white or in color, without subtitles. The organizers prefer classic cartoon artwork but digitally created works are accepted but will not be send back. They must be signed by their creator on the back side and be numbered by 1/1. Photos and copies of original works will be eliminated.
6. Exhibition:
The award ceremony will be held on Friday the 30th of September 2011 in Theater Boechout Vooruit, St.-Bavoplein 17, Boechout were also the exhibition will take place in the Foyer from the 1st of October until the 30th of October 2011 during the events in the Theater (see: www.Boechout.be ) and also specially on Tuesday the 4th of October (Annual Market Day and Boechout Fair) from 10 until 17 u. and on Sunday the 30th of October 2011 from 13 until 17 h. It’s foreseen to show the works in the Muzeum Kolejnictwa In Warschau Poland (opening ceremony on Friday the 18th of November 2011) and in other cities and countries.
7. Returns:
After these exhibitions the originals will be returned to their authors except the works selected for one of the prizes. The awarded works will become property of the organizer. The organizer cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of the return postage.
8. Catalogue:
The authors whose works will be selected for the exhibition will receive a free catalogue by mail together with his work(s). Prize winners will get their catalogue during the award ceremony.
9. Results:
The publication of the results will be done on the website www.iha.be after 30th of September 2011. The award winners selected by the jury will be personally informed by e-mail or by phone. The final decisions of the jury, which will meet on the 6th of August 2011, are incontestable.
10. Copyright:
The selected participants allow the organizers to use their works only for promoting the author, as well as the event. All other copyright remains property of the author.
11. Generalities:
The works should not have been awarded before. By taking part to this contest the participants agree to the abovementioned rules.

Competition Rules
The maximum number of entries you may submit is 5.
Deadline for receiving cartoons is Monday 14 March, 2011.
All entries should be without any kind of frame and must not be folded.
Each entry must be accompanied by a short biography and/or CV as well as the name and contact details of the cartoonist.
Submitted works may be put on exhibition and used in future publications.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into it.
Submitted works will not be returned.
By participating, you grant the organizers the rights to publish and use the submitted artworks in any form including:
a) Reproduction and dissemination in printed form for all editions (e.g. study edition, school edition, special edition) and in unlimited print-runs (printing right). The printing right embraces in particular hard-cover editions, paperback editions, reprints, magazines, newspapers, collected works, via all distribution channels such as retail bookshops, other retailers selling books, book clubs, open and closed user groups and in all formats.
b) Electronic/digital storage and making accessible (including in databases) by means of digital or other storage or data transmission technology, with or without intermediate storage, in such a way that users have access from a place and at a time selected individually by them and can download, play back, interactively use and/or pass to third parties this work via PC, eBook, mobile telephone or other wired or wireless appliances, for example via the internet, UMTS, cable, satellite or other transmission paths (online right).

Catalan Sports Drawing + Graphic Humour Competition 2011

The Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya (Catalan Union of Sports Federations) announces its 1st International Sports Drawing Competition which is open to all artists and whose theme is sport in general.
The competition will be biennial, and is intended to bring sport closer to the work of artists in order to extend and promote drawing as an expression of sport.
The works can be presented until February 28.
The Union also announces its 3rd Sports Graphic Humour Competition which is open to all works published in the print media or on the Internet and all unpublished works submitted to the Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya prior to the deadline established in the competition rules.
Sports Drawing
There will be a single indivisible prize of €3,000 (three thousand Euros), and two honourable mentions with a prize of €1,000 each, to be awarded by a majority vote of the jury.
Sports Humour
There will be a prize of €1,500 (one thousand five hundred Euros) and a second prize of €1,000 (one thousand Euros), both to be awarded by a majority vote of the jury.

The 17th International Ankara Cartoon Festival is going to be held from April 15th to 18th 2011 during the 82nd Children’s Day activities, which are celebrated in our country every year on the 23rd April.

The international 7-77 Cartoon Competition will be organized under the 17th International Ankara Cartoon Festival. The aim of the competition is to make children familiar with the art of cartooning and to contribute the development of sensitivity towards humour by enriching their world with the help of cartoons you will draw.
All proffessional and amateur cartoonists will be welcomed to join in by drawing cartoons for children.
Cartoons can be drawn in black-white or colourful using any technique in either A4 or A3 size.
Cartoonists can join in the competition with an original cartoon that can be understood by children. Competitors must write their names, surnames and addresses on the back of their cartoons.
The deadline for the competition is February 15th, 2011.

The sole prize of the competition is the 7-77 PRIZE ($2,000) and the institutions’ commemorative plates.
The results of the competition will be announced on April 1st, 2011 in the local press and on the web.
The winner of the competition will be invited to Ankara from April 15th to 18th, 2011 as a guest for the activities to be held during the 17th International Ankara Cartoon Festival and will receive the award at the opening of the exhibition.
The International 7-77 Cartoon Competition catalogue and the certificate will be sent to those competitors whose cartoons were chosen by the jury and were printed in the catalogue.
Cartoons will not be sent back and all rights will be reserved by the Cartoon Foundation.

Indeed, architects of violence and terrorism have no other intention but to obliterate any other existence. Their evil deeds know no boundaries and their targets include the public from all walks of life.
Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Palestine and x are among territories that have for a long time been areas of interest for dominators. Although they have suffered great tyranny, these people stood strong to retain their pride and go down the history.
The objective of this competition is to unfurl the evil face of terrorism that creates agitation, concern and insecurity in societies by killing innocent people to achieve its objectives.
