are organizing cartoon contest on theme "SEA ANIMALS".

A. Participation 

The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world, over the age of 18, regardless of nationality, religion, gender and education.

C. Artworks - Send by e-mail on address: info@animalcartoon.net .

• Only the original artworks (up to 5) in digital form send by e-mail will be accepted. 

• Digital works (A4, up to 300 dpi, JPEG or TIFF, the maximum length per one artworks 3 MB - Artworks bigger than 3 MB will not be opened, neither accepted) with personal information - name, address, e-mail, cartoonist photo and brief CV (.doc format, NOT PDF) should be sent by e-mail. 

• Condensed file zip, rar, etc... WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 

• The cartoons must not be previously awarded. 

Arrived submissions that passed the pre-selection will be immediately published on the portal AnimalCartoon.

• It will be also awarded 10 diplomas. 

F. Exhibition 

The exhibition will be staged in Zoological Garden Belgrade (BEO ZOO VRT) from October 1, 2024 to October 1, 2025. 

The exhibition will be shown in other towns in Serbia and abroad. 

G. Catalogue 

All participants of the competition will be able to download the catalog in PDF format from our portal. 

H. Other conditions 

• The organizers reserve the right to use them for various purposes without any obligation to compensate for it. 

• The works will be included in the permanent exhibition and archive portal AnimalCartoon. 

• By submitting works is considered that the authors accept these rules. 

• Arrived artworks remain the property of the organizers.

PROPOSITIONS 
1. Caricature: original one, minimum up to the format of A4 (210x297 mm), maximum up to the format of  A3 (297x420 mm), technics-free choice (usage of computers in the course of making also permitted). 
2. Written form: maximum two typed pages and up to 20 aphorisms. One author may apply for the competition exclusively under one single code!

DEADLINE FOR THE DELIVERY OF THE WORKS: December 31st, 2024.
Only shall unpublished works be taken into consideration.  A short biography is mandatory, address, phone number and mail address of the Author.
Written works are to be sent exclusively under the CODE and via post in three copies. 
Caricatures are to be sent by post or else in a digital form (to mail address), in the format JPG, resolution of 300 dpi and in maximum size of 4 MB. We are specifying that the selected authors have to send the original caricatures. Caricatures done on the computer have to be sent in a printed form in the format of A4 and have to be signed personally, with the indication No1.

Announcement of the Resolutions of the Jury shall have been passed by  February 15th, 2025.
Grant of the rewards shall be carried out on the closing evening of the Festival, on April 1st, 2025.
The Organizer bears the accommodation costs of the rewarded Authors. Official langauges of the festival are Serbian and English.
The works remain in the proprietorship of the Festival itself. The organizer is entitled to use the works, having been delivered for the Competition's sake, with the aim of promoting the very Festival.

Propositions: 

1. Caricature: minimum A4 size (210x297mm).

4. Short humorous and witty video form of maximum of up to 60s in AVI or else in MP4 format. Rewards:

During the participation in MASTER CLASS workshops, the organization of the festival will pay all transportation and accommodation costs.

Jury members of the 29th International Cartoon Exhibition, Zagreb 2024, Croatia

The collection of works for the 29th International Caricature Exhibition, Zagreb 2024, has been completed.

The theme is "Literature in Caricature - Characters from world-famous books in funny situations".

The jury meeting will take place on Monday, April 22 at 5 p.m. in the HDK premises at Savska 100 in Zagreb.

XXXI International Exhibition of Arts of Humor, Alcalá 2024, Spain

XXXI International Exhibition of Arts of Humor 2024

The Quevedo Institute of Arts of Humor through The General Foundation of the University of Alcalá announces the XXXI International Exhibition of Arts of Humor around the subject «Billionaires». There will be more information about the subject in the website iqh.es. 

1. Participation is open to all the persons older than 18. 

2. In order to participate in the Exhibition, every artist must send a piece on the theme «Billionaires». It can be a vignette, a comic strip or a caricature. The organization reserves the right to invite those authors that the organization members agree to consider important for the exhibition. 

3. The works must be original and must be signed. They can be made with any technique and in any format, with maximum dimensions of A3 (297x420 mm), and preferably in portrait format for printing in the catalogue. 

4. All art pieces will be sent before June 2nd 2024. Together with the piece, the authors must send the filled formulary attached to these requirements.

 For digital works, they must be made in formats JPG or TIFF with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, and they must be sent to miah@iqh.es. 

It is essential to comply with the noted date for the adequate planning of the catalogue and design of the exhibition. 

5. Entries sent by post must be suitably packaged. It is recommended to protect them with flat cardboard. The organization won't take responsibility on any possible damage occurred during transportation. Mailing costs will be the responsibility of the participants in this call, and the organisation will not assume any costs (e.g. customs charges) or any liability in the event of damage or loss of the work. 

6. A Selection Comission will carry out a selection of the pieces submitted, that will be exhibited in the XXXI Internacional Exhibition of the Arts of Humor in september-november. 

7. All pieces submitted will be kept at the Graphic Humour Archives of the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá, except specific indication to the contrary, for which the artist must write on the reverse of the piece “Devolución/Return”. 

8. The submission of the piece means that the author authorizes the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá to reproduce it and exhibit it, as long as the name of the artist is displayed and the objective is the media coverage of the Exhibition and the rest of activities of the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá within the field of Graphic Humour and/or of this call (edition of catalogues, posters, leaflets, media coverage, web page, etc.), and in any case it generates any type of obligation on the author's part. 

9. The organization will communicate through the Exhibition web page the list of participants with submitted piece and the list of selected pieces. 

10. At the end of the exhibition in Alcalá, those people with selected pieces will receive a copy of the catalogue, which will be edited to mark the celebration of the Exhibition. 

11. The organization reserves the right to not exhibit those pieces considered to infringe individual or collective rights. 

12. The participants will be responsible before any claim on the authorship of the works. The organization will not be responsible before any claim made by a third party upon the violation of intellectual rights or property of the works. 

13. The participation on this Exhibition means the acceptance of these conditions of entry.

15th Biennial International Cartoon Contest, Hlohovec 2024, Slovakia

Dear friends, it's here. 15th year of the Fraštacký tŕň is announced. 

April 1st is a day of jokes and fun. And on this cheerful day every other year the civic association EXLIBRIS AD PERSONAM HLOHOVEC in cooperation with the Homeland museum in Hlohovec announces international cartoon contest Fraštacký tŕň. 

For the 15th year of the contest we have chosen the topic PLASTICS. Quo vadis, homine? 

Everywhere you look, plastics surrounds you. You have plastics at home, plastics are in landfills, plastics are in rivers and in the sea. Do you buy canned tuna? The plastic that you did not sort slowly returns to your table in microparticles. How do cartoonists deal with this ecological threat? And what solution will they offer through their contest works? That's what the organizers decided to find out in the 15th year of the Fraštacký trň. 

So, dear cartoonists, the time has come to think about this serious topic and send your idea, transformed into a work of art, to Hlohovec. Contest conditions you can find here:

15h Biennial International Cartoon Contest FRAŠTACKÝ TŔŇ 2024

Contest conditions: 

Theme: A/Plastics B/Free theme. 

1. Contestant is obliged to send minimum 4 works (2 works on topic A and 2 works on topic B). 

2. Works must be originals 

3. Size of the work is free – we recomend A4 

4. The drawing technique is free 

5. It is advisable that the works do not contain text or comments 

6. Write please, your name, age, profession, address, telephone number and email on the back side of the work 

7. Awarded works will become in the possession of the organisers 

8. Other entries can be returned to the request of the author 

9. All contest works can be used for promotional and other purposes 

10. The participants accept the conditions of the contest by sending their application 

11. Foreign participants are required to communicate in English in their correspondence with organisers of the contest

INTERNATIONAL CARTOON COMPETITION SPECIFICATIONS:

1- The competition is open to adults over the age of 18 and young people around the world under the age of 18. 

2- The theme of the competition: “Earthquake” 

Purpose of the competition: 

To enable the young people of our country and the world to produce works that reflect the concept of "Earthquake" with the effective language of caricature, which is the art of reflecting a subject in a striking, critical, humorous and thought-provoking language... To draw the attention of the young people of the world to the "Earthquake" problem, which causes suffering in Turkey and the world from time to time, Raising awareness about earthquakes through the language of art… 

3- The technique is free of charge for the works that will participate in the competition. Your work may have been published before. However, it must not have received an award in any competition. Cartoons drawn by the same, similar or another cartoonist will be eliminated by the selection committee. All responsibility for any negativities that may arise in this regard belongs to the contestant. 

4- Participants can submit as many works as they want. However, more than one prize cannot be given to a contestant. 

5- Since participation in the competition will be via the internet, the cartoons to be sent must be maximum A3 (29.7 cm x 42 cm) in size, 300 dpi resolution and jpg format. 

6- The works that will participate in the competition can be sent via e-mail until 20 November 2024 at the latest; It should be sent to "boygencmercartoon@gmail.com" 

7- Along with the works, all participants must send their name, surname, age, postal address, phone number, e-mail address, short CV and a photograph as a word file. 

8- Cartoons that are awarded and deemed worthy of exhibition will be published in a pdf album and sent to the cartoonists whose works are included in this album, and will also be shared on the internet. 

9- The exhibition and award ceremony of the competition will be held on February 6, 2025 at Boyabat Martyrs Cultural Center. The exhibition may later be opened in Sinop and other provinces.
