6th International Turhan Selcuk Cartoon Competition 2016
THEME: OpenCONDITIONS:
1- The competition is open to any cartoonist.
2- It is acceptable to enter with cartoons that have been published previously. However, they should not have won any prize/award in any other competition.
3- Any technique is allowed. The cartoonist can submit a maximum of 5 cartoons. Originals or electronic versions suitable for printing in 300 dpi and jpg format sent by e-mail would also be acceptable.
4- All cartoons must be 30x40 cm maximum.
5- The participants must write their names (first and surname) in capital letters, address, e-mail, country and telephone number; a brief CV should be submitted in a sealed envelope.
6- The cartoons must be sent to the following address, no later than 18th April 2016:

7- The results of the competition will be announced on 23rd May 2016.
8- The cartoons sent to the competition will not be returned. All cartoons, whether they have won a prize or not, may be used for cultural purposes and may be published. Participation assumes acceptance of these conditions. All cartoons will be kept in the ‘Turhan Selcuk Karikaturlu Ev’.
9- The cartoons selected by the jury will be displayed in the exhibition and will also be printed in the album.
10- The reward ceremony will be held on 19th September 2016. The opening of the exhibition will be held on the same date, in ‘Turhan Selcuk Karikaturlu Ev’ for cartoons which have won an award or have been selected for display. The exhibition will be open until 4th October 2016.
11- Accommodation and meal expenses for participants who have won a ‘Special Award’ will be met. Travel expenses will be borne by the participants.

'Stop Violence Against Women': International Exhibition of Graphic Humor 2016, Peru
Especially violence against woman exercised by their partner and sexual violence is a serious public health problem and a violation of human rights woman.
The recent global prevelance figures indicate that 35% of woman worldwide have experienced dating violence or sexual violence by others at some point in their lives.
30% of woman who have had a relationship report experiencing some form of physical or sexual violence from their partner. 38% of murders of woman produced in the word are committed by their partner.
Against this background it is impossible to remain silent and therefore appeal to all possible tools to eradicate this problem.
In this context, the organization of the International Exhibition of Graphic Humor, invites all cartoonist in the world to send their works on this serious problem, for display in a public exposition.
REGULATION
+ All persons who wish regardless of age can participate. Each participants can submit up to three works. Other works presented will be accepted events or have won a prize or distinction.
+ Entries can be made in black and white or colors. The works will have a resolution of 300 dpi in JPG format and should be sent to salonhumorperu@salonhumorperu.com until 31 January 2016.
+ Participant should send their personal data: name, address, and contact phone number.
+ A selection of 120 works for the exhibition in large format and will also be part of a commemorative catalog that will be mailed to artist selected.

Terms of Participation1. THE COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL CARTOONISTS OF THE WORLD.
2. BOARD MEMBERS OF KIMSE YOK MU ASSOCIATION, MEMBERS OF THE SELECTION COMMITTEE AND THEIR IMMEDIATE RELATIVES CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION.
3. IN THE CARICATURES SUBMITTED TO THE COMPETITION, THERE SHALL BE NO DISCRIMINATION OF RELIGION, LANGUAGE, OR RACE, AND THE CARICATURES SHALL BE IN CONFORMITY WITH PUBLIC DECENCY.
4. ANY TECHNIQUES CAN BE USED TO DRAW THE CARICATURES. THEY CAN BE BLACK AND WHITE OR COLORED.
5. THERE SHALL BE NO REMARKS IN CARICATURES. IF AN EXPLANATORY REMARK IS TO BE USED IT SHALL BE DEFINITELY IN ENGLISH.
6. EACH PARTICIPANT CAN SUBMIT UP TO THREE (3) WORKS.
7. THE FORMAT OF THE CARICATURES SHALL BE JPG OR JPEG, WITH 300 DPI RESOLUTION.
8. THE COMPETITION PARTICIPANTS SHALL MAKE THEIR APPLICATIONS ON THE COMPETITION’S FORMAL WEBSITE: WWW.KYMCARTOON.COM.
9. PARTICIPANTS WILL ENTER INTO THE COMPETITION BY UPLOADING THEIR CARICATURES TO WWW.KYMCARTOON.COM.
10. THE PROPOSALS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ISSUED BEFORE IN DIGITAL OR PRINTED AND IT SHOULDN’T HAVE GAIN AWARD IN A COMPETITION BEFORE.
11. FOLLOWING THE COMPETITION, IN CASE A CARICATURE IS DEEMED AS NOT CONFORMING TO THE SPECIFICATIONS, ITS ORDER AND AWARD ARE REVOKED. SUCH A COMPETITOR IS DEEMED AS HAVING VIOLATING THE RULES. SELECTION OF A NEW CARICATURE INSTEAD OF THE REVOKED ONE IS AT THE DISPOSAL OF THE SELECTION COMMITTEE.
12. A PARTICIPANT CANNOT RECEIVE MORE THAN ONE AWARD.
13. THE RESULTS OF THE COMPETITION WILL BE ANNOUNCED TO THE CARICATURISTS WHO ARE GRANTED AWARDS AND TO THE MEDIA. IN ADDITION, THEY WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON WWW.KYMCARTOON.COM AND WWW.KIMSEYOKMU.ORG.TR .
14. KIMSE YOK MU ASSOCIATION WILL PAY THE NECESSARY TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION EXPENSES OF THE CARICATURISTS, GRANTED WITH THE FIRST THREE (3) AWARDS IN THIS COMPETITION (WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THIS SPECIFICATION), FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARD CEREMONY.
15. THE CARICATURES SENT TO THE COMPETITION MAY BE PUBLISHED AND REPRODUCED BY KIMSE YOK MU ASSOCIATION ON CARDS, POSTERS, BANNERS, ALBUMS, NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES, BOOKS, CDS, AND SUCH, AND EXHIBITED. NO COPYRIGHT SHALL BE PAID FOR THESE PROCEDURES. HOWEVER, THE OWNER MAY BE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENTS.
16. CARICATURES MUST BE UPLOADED TO WWW.KYMCARTOON.COM BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 29TH, 2016 UNTIL 23:59 TURKISH LOCAL TIME.
17. A DIGITAL PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE WILL BE SENT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE COMPETITION VIA EMAIL.
18. ALONGSIDE THE WORKS TO BE GRANTED AWARDS, THE SELECTION COMMITTEE WILL ALSO CHOOSE CARICATURES TO BE USED IN EXHIBITIONS AND ON ALBUMS.
19. THE SPECIFICATION OF THE COMPETITION CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM WWW.KYMCARTOON.COM.
20. The winners of the 9th Urziceni 2015 with themes Free & "Migration", Romania
1. From the 1576 works received at first, 578 selected were exhibited on the gallery Urziceni 2015. This first trial was performed by Julian PENA-Pai and Horia CRISAN.
2. We announced the jury composition, most of the jurors being cartoonists:
Roger Penwill, England, cartoonist, President of the Jury
Lubomir Mihailov, Bulgaria, cartoonist, jury member
Nicolae Petrache, Romania, The Festival Director, jury member
Constantin Ciosu, Romania, cartoonist, jury member
Constantin Pavel, Romania, cartoonist, jury member
Liviu Stanila, Romania, cartoonist, jury member
Horia Crisan, Romanian, cartoonist, jury member
They worked at home, no meetings or discussions among them, so they have made
their own choice and only by personal opinion.
3. Initially, each juror has the right to choose as many works he considered good, among the 578 from the public gallery. After putting together all those options, we obtained the first 162 pre selected for awards discussion.
4. From the 162 cartoons, each jury member has to select, in two rounds, his top 20 and top 15 drawings, independently, each work receiving 1 vote (1 point). And the result was a restraint gallery of 35 finalists .
5. Those finalists were presented to the public on BestCARTOONS.net and cartoonists of the world were invited to give their opinions about it, in a 3 days time, concerning possible fraud, plagiarism and/or similarities.
6. We have not received works with similarity problems.
7. The way of voting of each jury member is presented in this table.
8. The prize giving criterias are explained on the ''L'' column of our table of contents .
