Results of 28th International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest - TurkeyThe jury members of 28th International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest met at Istanbul Cartoon and Humour Museum on 8th August, 2008.
The Jury members are Turhan Selcuk(1), Tonguc Yasar(4), Metin Peker(2), Kadir Dogruer(9), Muhittin Koroglu(12), Gurbuz Dogan Eksioglu(3), Prof.Dr.Nazan Erkmen(7) from Turkey, and Tomas Rodriguez Zayas(11, Cuba), Leng Mu(10, China), Paola Dalponte(8, Italy), Luiz Carlos Fernandes(5, Brazil), Dr.Cheong San Lim(6, Korea).

910 cartoonists with their 910 cartoons participated in 28th International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest this year.
The results announced by the Association of Cartoonists in Turkey on 11th August, 2008 are as follows:

DICACO 2009 - Korea

The 18th Daejeon International Cartoon Contest (DICACO 2009)
The Daejeon City is inviting world cartoonists to take part in DICACO 2009 (the 18th Daejeon International Cartoon Contest).
1. This year’s contest comprises a Thema section (titled Customs / Costume) and a Free section.
2. The size of works should be smaller than 297 mm×420 mm.
3. Any color, free style, and unlimited items.(+3 Works)
4. Each entrant should provide title, name, age, address, career, e-mail, and telephone number on reverse.
5. The deadline for entry is Jun. 30, 2009.
6. Entries should be addressed to the Daejeon International Cartoon Institute, 450, Wolpyeongdong, Daejeon, Seoul 302-280, Korea.
7. The most creative cartoon will win the Grand prize of $3,000, Gold prize of $1,000, Silver prize of $500, Bronze prize of $300, and 300 Selected works will be awarded.
8. Exhibit the cartoons at the Daejeon Gallery in Oct. 2009.
9. Submitted cartoons will not be returned, but exhibited forever in Korean public halls, art galleries, & museums.
10. Your cartoon may be used for promotional purposes : cards, posters, catalogs, newspapers, magazine, and books etc.

III The Competition of a Caricature and a Short Comic Strip 2008.
http://www.zikison.net/ and The SRZ (SRŽ) – The Satirical Manufactory "Zikison" (Satirična Radionica Žikišon) are announcing in the categories, the themes:
1. THE PORTRAIT CARICATURE "ZIKISON" WITHOUT WORDS. How do caricaturists imagine "Žikišon" and his life time?
2. THE CARICATURE WITHOUT WORDS – FREE FORM. For both of categories you can send up to 3 works on A/4 size of paper, up to 200 KB by E-mail, any technique is allowed.
3. THE SHORT ALTERNATIVE COMIC STRIP – FREE FORM. A board needs to content up to 6 squares, A/3 format, up 400 KB by E-mail, any technique is allowed, up to 3 boards in a work or 3 boards of a single strip.
The competition will be opened and free for all of the professionals and amateurs, for affirmed and unknown authors from 7 to 77 years of age, for all people on this planet but in the case if someone appears from other planet then we will become the first interplanetar competition.
AWARDS: The first award in each of three categories - a presentation on a particular page on the site www.zikison.net and Electronic weekly news zikison and kiks (Caricature and Short Comic Cartoon).
Works can be sent by E-mail zikison@zikison.net & zikison.mazos@gmail.com with author’s short biography and photography. All of received works will not be returned to the senders. ZIKISON (1885 - 1950) Was a Satirist, a caricaturist, an editor, a publisher, and a printer. Between two wars in Serbia he was an actuator, a Co–Author editor of many of newspaper for humor and satire. He has been suffering and imprisoned by Communist Regime in 1949. Soon after that torture and seizing his property, he was died in 1950.

1st International Cartoon Contest OKHA - Germany

1st International Cartoon Contest - Germany - 2008
1. Themes: A. "Olympiad in Beijing". B. "Free"
2. The number of entries is limited until 5.
Any kind of graphical technique will be accepted, including digital artwork if they are signed and if the print is number one (manual numbered).
3. The works have to be sent to the following address:

4. The drawings shall have the following dimensions: 210 x 297 mm. (A4) - (8.268 x 11.693 inches). The works shall not be provided by a passe-partout, neither be stuck on to a larger paper. The drawing must bear, on the reverse side, the name, first name and address of the participant. The drawings shall not bear subtitles.
5. By virtue of their participation, the participants authorize the organizers to publish some of their works that they have received.
6. The following prizes are foreseen:
first prize: EURO 100,00
second prize: EURO 50,00
third prize: EURO 30,00
All prize-winners will receive diplomas.
7. Summarizing of a nomination "Free" takes place on October, 1st, 2008; and "Olympiad in Beijing"- in day of the termination of Olympiad!
8. The organizers keep the right to publish and replicate the cartoons in the promotional pack of the OKNA for promotional purposes of the OKNA without payment. The organizers promise to name the author and the county in all publications.
9. By submitting the works, the author accepts the rules and regulations of the Contest.
