Catalog of 4th International Olive Cartoons Contest 2015 of Kyrenia Municipality, Cyprus

Today received the recently published (April 2017) catalog of the 4th International Olive Cartoons Contest 2015 of Kyrenia Municipality, Cyprus. It is 20x21.5x2.5 cm in dimensions and has 240 full color pages plus the covers.
As Nidai Güngördü, the Mayor of Kyrenia Municipality, points out in his foreword, "Although the International Olive Cartoons Contest was interrupted for 4 years, which is a long period of time, owing to the efforts and meetings of the Organising Committee, 224 illustrators attended this year's contest from 56 countries with 459 pieces of artwork. This great success shows us that at the heart of this project, there is an endeavour, a collective collaboration, solemnity and the sense of "union is strength"."
And Musa Kayra, the President of Cypriot-Turkish Cartoonists Association, reminds in his introductory words that "the Olive that is one of the most important products of food culture of Mediterranean countries is our roots, our culture and our future."
This colossal book of cartoon art perfectly covers the short bios plus cartoons or portraits and declarations of the jury members and prize-winners in both Turkish and English languages, snapshots of the jury meeting, the prize-giving ceremony and some touristic scenes from the historical town along with the winning and the many selected cartoons.
The cartoon on the front cover is by the Slovenian artist Radko Oketic and the one on the back belongs to the Turkish cartoonist Cemalettin Güzeloğlu. Possible to see many winning and participating cartoons on the special website of the contest: http://www.zeytinkarikaturleri.com/.

Results of Caneva Ride Contest 2017, Premio Toni Zampol, Italy: In Vino Veritas?

Caneva Ride Contest 2017, Premio Toni Zampol, Italy
Theme: In Vino Veritas?
We report that upon the reporting of a large number of people and participants, after appropriate verifications the work that was the winner of Canza Ride 2017 "In Wine Veritas" by Behzad Ghafarizadeh Canada can not be admitted to the competition because it does not respect the regulation as work already winner of another competition and therefore not unpublished.
For this reason, the ranking of the winners is modified as follows:
First ranked: Bruno Hamzagic
- Bruno Hamzagic, the brilliant vignettist, has remarkably effective use of color, with a genial combination of technology connectors and natural shadows that make us laugh at taste. The design is also very effective, framing two subjects, certainly not on the cover, but from which a genuine beauty comes out. The aspect that struck the sticker in question is the ability in the synthesis of these elements to reproduce a situation that is contemporary but at the same time ancient, atavistic, and Dionysian. Use the Wine - Fi text to close and complete the image. Connected!
Second Classified: Konstantin Kazanchev
- Second, but not least noteworthy, is the design by the artist Konstantin Kazanchev that surprises us with a definite theme and solution: our consciousness. Well-made, the illustration suggests the theme of wine as a possible pacifying element of conflicts, difficult decisions, and moral issues to which we all, for good and for evil, have daily to do. To enrich the concept of the man's profile we can perceive is a man with important decisions, with his gut and 'wide' shoulders. Prosit!
The third prize is not awarded. (Source: facebook).
