The 4th INTERNATIONAL CARTOON GATHERING - EGYPT 2017
(To be held in 7th May 2017)
The Ministry of Culture in Egypt, in cooperation with Egyptian Caricature Association organize the 4th International Cartoon Gathering.
Eligible Participants:
• Opened to all artists from all over the world above 18 years of age.
Theme: The Woman
Technical Criteria:
· All artworks to be prepared at 300 dpi.
· Size A3 (297mmx420mm) in JPG format.
· Entries: Max. 5 cartoons.
· Submitted works can be in color or black and white, in any style or technique.
· Submitted works must not violate copyright laws.
· By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permit the organizers have full right to reproduce all or a part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.
· All artworks should be away from sexuality or any other sexual suggestiveness.

• A catalogue of the selected artworks will be printed, a copy of which will be sent to the selected cartoonists.

The 6th Sejong International Cartoon Contest SICACO 2017, Korea

The SICACO Committe is inviting world cartoonists to take part in SICACO 2017 (the 6th Sejong International Cartoon Contest).
1. This year's contest comprises a Thema section (titled Success+Failure) and Free section (soccer, etc).
2. The size of works should be smaller than 297mm × 420mm.
3. Any color, free style, and unlimited items(+3 works)
4. Each entrant should provide title, name, age, address, career, e-mail, and telephone number on reverse.
5. The deadline for entry of original works is 31 August 2017.

7. The most creative cartoon will win the Grand prize of $3,000, Gold prize of $1,000, Silver prize of $500, Bronze prize of $300, and 300 Selected works will be awarded.

9. Submitted cartoons will not be returned, but exhibited forever in Korean public halls, art galleries, & museums.
10.Your cartoon may be used for promotional purposes : cards, posters, catalogs, newspapers, magazine, and books, etc.

Second international cartoon contest and exhibition tOOns MaG 2017, Norway

Second international cartoon contest and exhibition tOOns MaG 2017, Norway
The Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery and tOOns MaG /Arifur Rahman invite you to participate in the international exhibition and contest “Freedom of Expression” 2017.
Requirements for participating:
1. The cartoon have to be new, never published before.
2. The cartoon can be produced traditionally or digitally.
3. Participants may send maximum five works. In case of including text, it must be in English.
4. Cartoons with your C.V. , address (in doc. format) and a personal photo have to be sent to the following email address: freedom@toonsmag.com
5. Deadline: 20th of March 2017
6. Size: A3, JPG format with 300 DPI.
Awards and prizes:
1st prize: NOK 3 000.
2nd prize: NOK 2 000.
3rd prize: NOK 1 000.
Nine cartoonists will receive Honorable Mention Award.
Jury and exhibition:
An international jury of eight members will make a selection of the submitted cartoons which are to be exhibited and published in www.toonsmag.com. The jury members will be considered as participants in the exhibition and represent their own countries.
Selected cartoons will be exhibited in Norway, Slovakia and in India so far and can be exhibited in some other countries. Cartoons can only be used for promotion purposes (Printing, Exhibition, Websites, Newspapers, Posters and Invitation cards).
We will publish the results of the contest on 15th of April 2017.

Competition Rules
1. Theme:Innovation & Sustainable Development
Focus on the theme of the competition, though contributions relating to environment protection are also accepted.
2. Participants
1) Students group of those from China and oversea universities,
2) Social group of professional and armature cartoonists
3. Schedule:
Submissions will be accepted beginning November 15, 2016
The deadline for entries is December 20, 2016
Notice: Since the deadline is set upon the receipt of the works, it is suggested to have the works delivered as early as possible.

6. Requirements
1) There is no limitation of numbers of participant’s submission.
2) Paper submissions should not be smaller than 210 mm x 297 mm. Please print the title, participant’s name, college name, address and other contact information on the back of each submission.
3) If you submit your contribution via email, please follow the resolutions: - 300 dpi (file size no bigger than 2MB) - JPG - RGB - Longest side of the file should be under 1000 pixels
4) Criteria for paper submissions: title of the work, participant’s name, and the name of the college or university he or she attends are required, author’s pen name is optional.
Caption of email contribution should be in .TXT format and include the title of the work, participant’s name, institute participant attends, address, and telephone number.

10. Additional Key Points
1) No fees needed for the competition
2) Cartoons and illustrations must be submitted
3) Winning contributions will be displayed on News Cartoon
4) Monthly champions are selected according to the number of votes and views the submission receives.
5) The result will be publicized on News Cartoon, as well as other newspapers or websites.
11. The Jury
1) The jury is made up of famous cartoonists, university professors and experts of environment-protection.
2) The jury will maintain an objective, fair and just principles of the entries submitted for judging and voting, and recommended the winners.
3) The winner will be announced in January 2017.
12 Copyrights
1) The organizers reserve the right to refuse entries they consider morally, politically or religiously offensive, as well as work that is considered in violation of the acknowledged moral standards.
2) If a contribution has any intellectual property rights or copyright dispute, the organizer holds the right to revoke the participant’s eligibility to participate in the competition. Participants are solely liable for any consequence that may arise from submitting work to the competition. The participant must be the owner of all rights on the work submitted and it is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that his or her contributions to the competition do not generate any copyright or other intellectual property rights dispute.
3) News Cartoon reserves the right to use the contributions for presentation and media use.
4) Organizers and participants share the copyrights of the contributions; the organizers of the event have the right to display and distribute the works of the contestants.
5) By submitting a contribution to the competition, the participant is agreeing to accept all of the rules.
