CALL TO ARTISTS
Miami Dade College, West Campus, and the online magazine SuiteHumor.com invite all cartoonists to take part in the WE THE VOTE Salon. The Salon will open on September 29, 2016 at MDC West, 3800 NW 115th Ave. Doral, FL 33178, USA.
The Salon will exhibit cartoons that reflect voting as a civic duty and a right of the citizens. The event will be a way of expressing the importance of voting, especially in a presidential election year.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Participants will submit up to three cartoons on voting as a civic duty and a citizens’ right, in jpg format with a 300 dpi resolution (high resolution). The participants can use any technique, color or combination of colors.
The participating cartoons could not have been previously published or have won awards in any contest or event.
The deadline to submit works is September 2, 2016.
Participating cartoons will be sent as email attachments to the event’s official email address:
mdc-event@suitehumor.com .
Participants whose works are selected to be part of the Salon will receive a Certificate of Participation.
The jury will be made up by internationally recognized Miami cartoonists, SuiteHumor.com humorists, and MDC West representatives. The jury’s decision cannot be appealed.
Each participant will fill out an Entry Form with his/her name, home and electronic addresses, phone number and country of residence. The Entry Form can be found at the event’s official website: SuiteHumor.com.
The submission of the Entry Form implies that the participant accepts these Rules and Regulations, turns over all rights to his/her cartoons to the WE THE VOTE organizing committee and authorizes the event organizers to publish the cartoons on the media and/or the Internet. The acceptance of these Rules and Regulations also conveys the turnover of the aforementioned rights to third parties without limitations. Both Miami Dade College West and SuiteHumor.com have the right to exhibit, archive, and publish those cartoons on the media and/or the Internet without limitations.
The event organizers reserve the right not to exhibit cartoons that may be found offensive or attempt against individual and/or collective rights.
Participation in this event supposes the acceptance of these Rules and Regulations without reservations.
