The International jury will make a selection out of submitted cartoons which is to be exhibited and published in the Salon’s catalog. Besides, the following prices are to be awarded:
The Grand Prix «The Peace Messanger» and 1.500 euros prize is to be awarded by the International Association of Peace Messanger Cities
The Gold Plague and 1.000 euros prize
The Silver Plague and 800 euros prize
The Bronze Plague and 500 euros prize
The Mayor of Bydgoszcz (Poland) Award, amounts 750 euros
The City of Ingolstadt (Germany) Award, amounts 500 euros
The City of Bielsko-Biala (Poland) Award, amounts 500 euros
The City of Suresnes (France) Award, amounts 500 euros
The City of Pitesti (Romania) Award, amounts 500 euros
The City of Carrara (Italy) Award, amounts 500 euros
The prize fund is 7.050 euros in total.
The Jury might additionally award several diplomas to close contenders.
Cartoonists and fine artists from all over the world have the right to participate. They should submit at most three (3) cartoons, which have not been awarded by any other international competition, on the subjects of antiwar as well as solidarity between people and nations. The artworks should be utmost A4-A3 formated, while art technique is at the artist’s choice, including electronical version of the cartoon with the original signature. On the back of the artwork there should be written data on the artist (such as: name, surname, age, address, phone/fax, e-mail).
The submission deadline is September 15, 2011.
The jury session is to be held on September 16-17, 2011.

Submitted artworks are not to be returned, they remain in the Salon’s collection.
NOTE: The 15th International Antiwar Cartoon Salon «Kragujevac 2011» had so far the strongest international promotion and afirmation. On the occasion of the award ceremony the prizes were handed over and the exhibition was opened in Kragujevac. Afterwards, the 15th Salon exhibition was on display at the United Nations Palace in New York. Also, it was a part of programe that marked the 65th anniversary of the victory over facism in the Ukranian historical City of Poltava. The usual tour around the Salon's partner cities took this show to Ingolstadt (Germany), Bielsko-Biala and Bydgoszcz (Poland). It was presented at the City Hall in Limassol (Cyprus) during the session of the General Assembly of the International Association of the Peace Messanger Cities. Then, the chosen artworks at the 15th Salon were exhibited in the Serbian capitol Belgrade. The exhibition's next destination was Romania,where the cartoons were on display in Temisoara during the Days of the Serbian culture, as well as in Pitesti on the Day of the Romanian Statehood. Finally, the exhibition was set at the National Museum of Mexico in Mexico City in last May.
Again, the Salon has got the invitation to set the show in Bar (Montenegro), while negotiations for the visit to the seat of the European Union Brussels are underway.

Catalog of the 20th Gabrovo International Biennial of Humour and Satire 2011

The catalog of the 20th Gabrovo International Biennial of Humour and Satire in the Arts 2011 arrived today. The 162 pages of the catalog are full of the hundreds of the selected and the awarded works in six categories. This magnificient book is of size 20.5 x 22.2 cm.
From Turkey the following artists are selected and represented with one image of their works each; artists whose names are marked with an asterisk (*) are exhibiting more than one work:

Catalog International Cartoon Competition Golden Keg 2011

Received today the catalog Golden Keg 2011 as one of the participants. The 17th International Cartoon Competition on the Topic of Beer The Golden Keg 2011 received in total 549 works of 221 authors from 41 countries.
The catalog is 15x21 cm in size and has 20 pages including the awarded and some selected cartoons. It is in two languages: Slovak and English.
Fedor Vico, the competition officer and former "Vico-President" of the Bumerang magazine, tells the most interesting (hi)story of the competition in his article titled "The Keg is Rolling on in spite of the Crisis".
PhDr. Jaroslav Reznik says in his "Jury Chairman's Foreword": "It was a unique experience to choose the best of them (cartoons) in the basement of a historical Presov town house in the company of excellent people. Such experiences are not sold by any adrenaline travel agency.
It is unbelievable how beer, transformed into a cartoon, is able to unite. Maybe even more than the one that is drunk".

The works will not be returned to the authors as they are part of the EIC Europe Direct, Ruse collection now. They will be included in an additional exhibition that will be hosted by all of the European Information Centres in Bulgaria.

Spirito di Vino (Wine and Wit) 2011, Italy

Spirito di Vino 2011 - international competition for cartoonists
On May 28th, inauguration day of Cantine Aperte 2011, the twelfth edition of the international competition Spirito di Vino (Wine and Wit) has been lauched. The competition is organised every year by Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia together with the Istituto Europeo di Design, the Municipality and the University of Udine and the Cassa di Risparmio del Friuli Venezia Giulia. The aim of the competition is to collect and select the funniest satirical cartoons concerning the world of wine produced by cartoonists from all around the world.
Since its first edition, Spirito di Vino has been particulary focussed on young artists, who have always proved very willing to take part to the initiative. Today Movimento Turismo del Vino is still carrying out this project with passion and momentum with the aim of raising awareness, not only among young people but also among wine lovers from all around the world, on the need to drink responsibly. This year the competition will no longer be reserved just to young artists below 35 of age, as a new session of artists above 36 years of age will be opened.
Spirito di Vino has always been characterised by its international allure as, since its first edition, it has been very well received by artists from Europe, Russia, Latin America, Japan and China. This cultural mix has resulted in a rich variety of viewpoints concerning the fascinating world of wine. Thanks to Spirito di Vino, satirical cartoons become a common ground enabling participants to express their thoughts and ideas.
To take part to the competition, applicants can send their works of art from May 28th to August 31th 2011 to Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia (Via del Partidor 7 – 33100 Udine), or by visiting the website http://www.mtvfriulivg.it/.
The satirical cartoons will be assessed by a jury chaired by Alfio Krancic – president of the competition - and Giorgio Forattini – honorary president of the competition - and composed of eminent figures from the field of journalism, satire and graphics such as: Emilio Giannelli (cartoonist), Valerio Marini (cartoonist), Gianluigi Colin (Corriere della Sera art director), Franz Botré and Enzo Rizzo (director and deputy director of the magazine Spirito DiVino), Carlo Cambi (editorial manager of the magazine Wine Passion), Paolo Marchi (journalist of Il Giornale), Aldo Colonetti (scientific manager of the Istituto Europeo di Design), Fede & Tinto (Decanter RadioRai radio programme) , Francesco Salvi (actor).
After August 31th, the jury will meet at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milano to select 30 cartoons for each session. A special exhibition will be organised to put the selected cartoons on display. Then, on September 17th 2011, on the backdrop of the food and wine festival Friuli Doc, the three best cartoons of each session will be awarded a selection of wines produced by Movimento Turismo del Vino Fvg partner wineries.

4th International Caricature Competition Nota Bene 2011, Russia
CAUTION: PEOPLE
The project is a collaborative effort by the The Artliga Gallery, the Independent Culture Organization and the Museum of Nonconformist Art continue to develop the project, with support from Department of Culture of the City Administration of St. Petersburg.
"Nota Bene or Pay Attention!"
The project's goal is to raise awareness of social problems, which are the cause for concern in Russia and around the world.
This goal is achieved by capitalizing on the creative power of artists from all around the world by organizing an international caricature competition. Selected entries will be shown in exhibitions. Top entries will be awarded prizes and artists will likely see their work used in awareness campaigns.
The project started with the "Beware: Nazism!" exhibition which took place in 2005.
The second exposition "Watch Out: Femida!" was held in 2006.
The third exhibition "Danger:Corruption" took place in 2008.
Participants included artists from Brazil, Uzbekistan, Spain, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Poland, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, USA, Italy, Armenia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, Slovakia, China, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Australia, Iran, Bosnia and Russia.
All of the exhibitions are available on the internet at http://www.notabene.org.ru/, where they have been viewed by more than 60,000 people, who left more than 140,000 comments.
The best artwork was displayed at exhibitions in St. Petersburg and Moscow (The House of Journalists, The Andrei Sakharov Museum and Center, and the Museum of Nonconformist Art).
The project’s success convinced us that it needs to continue.
Thus, the topic of our latest international competition is:"CAUTION: PEOPLE"
We hope the artists can summon enough humor in order to show us a hilarious, multifaceted, contradiction view of the phenomenon known as the contemporary person and a contemporary society.
COMPETITION RULES:
1. Entries must be submitted by August 1, 2011.
2. The competition will be held at the Pushkinskaya 10 Art Center, 10 Pushkinskaya Ulitsa, St. Petersburg.
3. Exhibition will be displayed at:
The Artliga Gallery,10 Pushkinskaya Ulitsa, St. Petersburg.
4. The jury will evaluate and award entries with prizes. The entry that receives the most online votes will also be awarded a prize.
1st prize – 50 000 RUB
2nd prize – 45 000 RUB
3rd prize – 35 000 RUB
The Viewers Choice Award (determined by online voting at http://www.notabene.org.ru/) – 15 000 RUB.
Each contributor will receive a certificate participation and an exhibition catalog. The catalog will be sent to a number of Russian libraries and public organizations.
5. The format is open. Participants not based in St. Petersburg can submit their works electronically on CD/DVD. Submissions made by e-mail should be either in TIFF or JPEG format and have a resolution of at least 300 DPI.
6. Submissions are not returned. After the competition, the work of the participants will be sent to the fund of the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the "Nota Bene" project will receive the right for the non-commercial use of their art. Artists are required to allow Artliga to publish their submissions free of charge in a catalog and other non-commercial publications.
7. The act of submitting a work to the competition will constitute that the artist(s) agrees and accepts these conditions.
