5th International Cartoon Competition Berlin 2014, Germany

Yet for the fifth time the International Cartoon Competition Berlin on the topics of "ELECTRIC MOBILE" and "BERLIN WALL” takes place under the direction of Valeriu Kurtu and in cooperation with the LIMES Image Agency.
The partners of this year's competition are the Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO and the Museum STORY OF BERLIN.
By 1912, there were far more ELECTROMOBILES than vehicles with internal combustion engines. Electric cars were popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century, until advances in internal combustion engine technology and mass production of cheaper gasoline vehicles led to a decline in the use of electric drive vehicles. A renaissance in electric vehicle manufacturing has occurred due to the decline of global oil reserves. The European Union will announce plans to ban all fossil fuel-powered cars in Europe by 2050. Yet limited crude oil resources and the climate change are forcing a change in thinking.
The 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall will come on 9 November 2014. After several weeks of civil unrest, the East German government announced that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. The anniversary is an occasion to offer this historical event as a special theme for the contest. The peaceful revolution went down in history and current events show that the human desire for freedom is endless.

Production
The cartoon can be produced analogue or digital, but it has to be sent to us only in digital format.
Caption
The caption in English or German takes place only via internet before uploading of the cartoons.

The jury starts with the determination of the prize winners from beginning of April 2014.
The exhibition date is not yet fixed.
Presentation of the cartoons
The contestant allows the organizer to use the cartoons for own puplications only in connection with this competition.
With the sending of the works for the competition the contestant accepts automatically the regulation of the competition and agrees the print of the cartoons for the exhibition and catalogues.
Awards Ceremony / Vernissage
The awards ceremony of the 5th International Cartoon Competition Berlin 2014 takes place on the 6th of June 2014 in the Museum STORY OF BERLIN.
All copyrights are held by the author of the cartoons.
The decision is final.

Terms and conditions of participation
1. The title of this competition for cartoons and caricatures is „JUST EXPLAIN IT SIMPLY : The UN and its Millennium Goals – another world is possible!”
2. The call for entries is directed towards all cartoonists.
3. Deadline: Submissions must be mailed from January 01 until 30th of June, 2014 (EXTENDED:) 15th of AUGUST, 2014 to TALIDE e.V., Waldemarstraße 33, 18057 Rostock, Germany. Submissions postmarked later than 30th of June will not be accepted in the competition. The words „ Just explain it simply “ must be written on the entry envelope.
4. Each participant may submit a maximum of three artworks. The artworks must be originals. They may not be have been submitted to other competitions. Captions should be either in German, Spanish or the English language.
5. Only the submitting artist’s original works are permitted.
6. Maximum format of the artworks: A4 (210 x 297 mm).
7. The artwork should not be framed. There are no restrictions concerning artistic technique.
8. The proposed works should also be sent to TALIDE by email. Use JPG as your file format, 300 dpi image resolution.
9. On the reverse side of the original artworks should be written the full name, postal address, email address and phone number of the artist.
10. Also include a short C.V. (curriculum vitae), max. one A4 page, and a photo or a self-caricature of the artist.
11. Participation in the competition must be declared by 16th of June, 2014 by filling out the participation form on the project website.
12. The prizewinners will be selected by an independent jury.
13. Three main prizes will be awarded:
1st prize: 1.000 Euro, 2nd prize: 500 Euro, 3rd prize: 300 Euro
14. The three winning artworks will become the property of the competition organizers.
15. Selected entries will be exhibited. In addition, a competition catalog will be produced. Each artist whose works are exhibited or presented in the catalog will receive a copy of the catalog free of charge.
16. Originals will only be sent back if indicated by the artist. In this case, enclose an envelope and sufficient postage to return your submission.
17. Participants in the competition grant permission for the use of the proposed artworks in the competition organizer’s own publications, and for publications related to the competition.
18. In submitting their work participants automatically agree to the competitions terms and conditions. PLEASE NOTE: This also includes permission for their work to be exhibited and printed in the competitions catalogue as well as to be used by TALIDE e.V.
19. The participants are required to ensure that the content of the submitted work does not contravene laws regarding copyright, competition regulations, child welfare, trademark law or other industrial property rights as well as personal rights of third parties.
20. The organisers reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions. The competition organisers have the right to cancel the competition at any time as well as to modify and modify the competition or change the prize should the competition not be feasible in the intended manner.

OCEANS
Human being, as all life on earth, came from the stars and landed through the ocean. Ocean is our very first foster mother, much more than the land where we, now, cut trees and plant transgenic corn. But, as we maltreat land, we have been maltreating our spring of life and now oceans are quite ill because of our activities : less fish but more plastic, less pure water but more oil, less coral but more garbage.
That’s why today, not tomorrow, we must do our best to save oceans of ourselves if we still want to have a future on this planet. So, to help people to get more conscience of that, we propose to our friends cartoonists all over the world to participate in our contest on the theme « Oceans ». Obviously, we will do our best to diffuse this exhibition as large as possible.
So, please be great, be free, be creative and be fun as usual and send us one or two cartoons without words about this very important subject for life on earth : Oceans.

Conditions and rules:
Initially, each participant can submit up to 3 entries in digital format by sending them before March 5th, 2014 (NOW EXTENDED UNTIL March 15th, 2014) via internet (Upload) to the following link: www.nielsbuggeaward.org/sendcartoon.html together with the digital entry form with the informations about the author. Size for the first round: A4 Format, 300 dpi, 2480x3508 pixel, Max. 5 MB each file.
The cartoons received after the deadline will be rejected.
Out of these submissions, the jury will make a selection of 100-150 drawings.
Only the selected artists will be asked to send the original work by post.
All these works will be shown at the exhibition.
The works can be made in black&white or color, with any drawing technique, we accept only wordless cartoons, without subtitles.
The submitted work should not have been awarded before the deadline of this contest.
Cartoon works will be appreciated by the International Jury.
The award winners selected by the jury will be personally informed via e-mail.
The final decisions of the jury are incontestable.
The Prizes are :
1st Prize : 3.000 EUR
2nd Prize : 2.000 EUR
3rd Prize : 1.000 EUR
The selected participants give the organizers permission to use their drawings only for promoting the artist and the event itself.
Every other aspect of the copyright remains with the artist (except for the awarded submissions).

The drawings that were awarded one of the prizes will become property of the organizer.

1. Participants are divided into Junior Group (middle school students) and Children Group (primary school students and preschool children).
2. Participating works shall be original, instead of modification, reproduction or copy from others. They shall boast entire copyright. In case of violation, the participation qualification of such works will be cancelled.
3. Each participant is allowed to contribute 1 piece of works.
4. The competition will not charge any participation fees.
IX. Requirements
1. Original works with healthy and positive content should be sent. The patterns of manifestation are not limited. Paper of single, four and multiple cartoon strips should not be smaller than 20×30cm or bigger than 55×40cm. No framing is needed. Cartoon books should be no more than 16 pages with a size bigger than 15×20cm and smaller than 30×40cm, and should be binded together in book form. Personalized bookbinding and layout are encouraged.
2. X. Awards:

3. Excellent Organizer Award and Excellent Tutor Prize are also provided.

1 - DATES
The 2nd International Humor Exhibition of Manaus 2014, conducted by Jack Cartoon Productions / CT Tech Amazon Fight City Hall / Manaus / Amazonas State Government shall comply with the following schedule - Registration: until May 7. Art Selection: 22 and 23 May. Opening and Awards: June 2. Closing: August 3.
2 - PARTICIPATION
Professional and amateur artists, Brazilians and foreigners can apply unpublished artworks that were not awarded until the closing date for entries.
The works - all categories - can be sent by MAIL or ELECTRONIC MAIL (applications over the Internet, in the format and 300 DPI, JPGE, attached images at once).
The graphical technique is free. Digital copies signed by author and being indicated that it is print number 01 and sculptures, with humorous content will also be accepted. Maximum measures allowed: paper - 42 x 30 centimeters (A3) (16,54 x 11,81 inches), sculptures - 42 centimeters or 16,54 inches (height) x 30 centimeters or 11,81 inches (depth) x 30 centimeters or 11,81 inches (width).
Each artist may enter a maximum of 03 works per category: Cartoon (( graphic humor themed to FOOTBALL WORLD CUP), Charge – GRAPHIC HUMOR ( with graphic humor journalistic themes to FOOTBALL ), Caricature ( graphic humor which expresses the physical traits and / or character personality known in SOCCER WORLD CUP), Comic Strips/Comic Stories ( graphic sequentially . 3 - AWARDS
The Awards are a total of R$ 30,000.00 (thirty thousand reais), of divided as follows:
a) Four 1st place prizes in the amount of R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais) each, divided among the categories.
b) One award of R$ 10,000.00 (ten thousand reais) called GRAND PRIZE INTERNATIONAL HUMOR OF MANAUS chosen among the five winners of each category.
c) Beside the money prize, the awarded artists will be receiving trophies. Other awards and honors may be imposed at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.
There will be a Selection Jury and an Award Jury composed by qualified people in the area. If the Award Jury finds any type of fraud or plagiarism in one or more registered works, the Jury may cancel the award. The result of the award may be contested until a week after the opening of the Exhibition, with reasonable evidence of any wrongdoing without acknowledgement of the committee.
4 – ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The simple application requires the artist to accept these regulations. The selected artists automatically transfer the authorial rights of his artworks for reproductions and publications in any media, without restriction, aiming promotion of the event. The returning of the artworks after the closing of the exhibition must be formally requested early in the registration form. Otherwise the artworks will ultimately belong to the collection of the CT Tech Amazon Fight City Hall, which will exercise the right of property, as it finds interesting.
The organization of the 2nd International Humor Exhibition of Manaus 2014 is not responsible for possible damages that may happen when the arts are sent or returned.
The authors transfer automatically Authorial Rights of his artworks when awarded acquisitively (including mentions), in accordance with the Law n° 9610, February 19st, 1988 (Authorial Rights Law), therefore, universal and definitely in all use modalities and gratuitous, the rights of the author, guaranteed by the mentioned law; referring to the awarded artworks in the 2nd International Humor Exhibition of Manaus 2014 and now integrant part of the CT Tech Amazon Fight City Hall .

REGULATIONS

1. Theme of the competition and participation rules
The contest is open to all cartoonists, illustrators and graphic artists from all over the world. It is possible to participate also out of the competition. This request excludes the author from the award of the prizes.
The theme of the contest is: RIGHTS, inviolable and universal
Authors can participate with a maximum of 3 works (Cartoons or Strips), inherent to the theme proposed in relation to man, his existence and the society where he lives, seen in a humorous viewpoint. In order to be understood worldwide and beyond every linguistic barrier, the works must be without dialogue or texts.
Works must be inedited (that is, neither published before nor used to participate in other competitions). The organization can decide to exclude from the award of the prizes those works that are found to have been already edited.

The deadline for works reception is February 21, 2014
The acceptance of the works, the selection, and the assigning of the prizes are completely up to the Jury nominated by the Artistic Direction and "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense". The Jury's decisions are unquestionable and uncontestable.
3. The Award of the Prices and the Delivery of the Original Works
The Jury will award the "International Grand Prix Scacchiera", the Special prize "Sandro Carlesso", the Special prize "Marco Sartore" and 10 Special prizes "Umoristi A Marostica". Other special prizes or honorary mentions may be awarded.
The results of the Jury will be given directly to all participating artists by email and published on the web site www.umoristiamarostica.it.
The authors selected by the jury must send the original works for the exhibition.
If the work is realized exclusively with a digital technique, the author will have to send a dated, numbered and signed copy of the work.

4. Opening Ceremony, Awarding and Acceptance of the Regulation
The opening ceremony and the prize distribution will take place on May, 10, 2014 at Castello Inferiore of Marostica. The exhibition will be open until June 22, 2014.
All the authors selected will receive a free copy of catalogue. Non-selected participants will have the possibility to demand the catalogue compiling the form on the site www.umoristiamarostica.it.
The works selected for the exhibition and for the catalogue will not be returned and will be included in the collection of "Umoristi A Marostica Museum". Nonselected paper works for the exhibition and the catalogue will be given back on request before and not after June 22, 2014. Shipping cost is debited to the author.
The "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense" reserves the right to authorize the reproduction of the works and the diffusion of them through various communication means citing the author with the words "Taken from Umoristi A Marostica", without any payment. The "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense" is not responsible for transport damages.
The participation in the contest implies the complete acceptance of all the conditions and rules from the author.

THE BEER GALLERY in Prešov and ŠARIŠ GALLERY in Prešov, announce the 20th International Cartoon Humour Competition on the Topic of BEER: GOLDEN KEG 2014, Slovakia
On Tuesday, 1st April 2014, an exhibition of the best
competing works, a festive announcement of the results and the handing of prizes to the most successful authors of the 20th competition in accordance with the Jury´s decision will take place as follows:
GRAND PRIZE (Grand Prix) Golden Keg and 500 €
1st Prize Small GOLDEN KEG and 200 €
2nd Prize Small GOLDEN KEG and 150 €
3rd Prize Small Golden KEG and 100 €
The Competition Jury reserves the right not to grant any of the prizes or to grant other special prizes.
The organisers will accept for the competition all works that will be delivered at the address of the Šarišská gallery in Prešov by 24th February 2014.
The organisers of the competition reserve the right to publish selected works in promotional materials and to re-install the exhibition, while each competitor will receive a competition catalogue.
Competition rules:
1. Each author can send at maximum five original works, including graphic techniques.
2. The competition is open to anybody and everybody, and it is not restricted in terms of artistic design methods.
3. The formats of the works should not exceed the A4 dimensions.
4. The competition is non-anonymous. Each work should be signed on the reverse and bear the author´s full address.
5. The rewarded works will become property of the BEER GALLERY in Prešov.

International exhibition "Apaguemos el Maltrato" is on from 25 November in Spain

The International exhibition themed "Apaguemos el Maltrato" (Extinguish Violence Against Women) is opened in 25th November 2013 in Madrid where is the capital of Spain with the participation of 24 prestigious artists from 21 countries and aims to raise awareness of abuse against women. In the afternoon, it was presented in Alcorcón, the first of the 12 towns that will hold the exhibition by the hand of the Women’s Institute of Madrid.

The exhibition after Madrid Royal Mail House will be placed at headquarters at the Women Institute of Madrid for a year. During the same period, it will be exhibited in Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Aranjuez, Boadilla del Monte, Getafe, Las Rozas, Móstoles, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Soto del Real, Torrejón, Tres Cantos and Valdemoro.
The two cartoons by Menekşe ÇAM take place in the exhibition to represent Turkey.

International 7-77 Cartoon Competition 2014, Turkey

The 19th International Ankara Cartoon Festival is going to be held from April 18th to 20th, 2014 during the 85th Children’s Day activities, which are celebrated in our country every year on the 23rd April .
The international 7-77 Cartoon Competition will be organized under the 20th International Ankara Cartoon Festival. The aim of the competition is to make children familiar with the art of cartooning and to contribute the development of sensitivity towards humour by enriching their world with the help of cartoons you will draw.
All proffessional and amateur cartoonists will be welcomed to  join in by drawing cartoons for children.
Cartoons can be drawn in black-white or colourful using any technique in either A4 or A3 size.
Cartoonists can join in the competition with an original  cartoon that can be understood by children.
Competitors must write their names, surnames and addresses on the back of their cartoons.
The deadline for the competition is February 1st, 2014. Cartoons should be sent to the  following address:

The sole prize of the competition is the 7-77 PRIZE (1000 €) and the institutions’ commemorative plates.

The International 7-77 Cartoon Competition catalogue and the certificate will be sent to those  competitors whose cartoons were chosen by the jury and were printed in the catalogue.
Cartoons will not be sent back and all rights will be reserved by the Cartoon Foundation.
International 7-77 Cartoon Competition exhibition will be opened in various cities of Turkey and abroad.
