Contest: open to all cartoonists
Theme:
A) Braila - a multi-ethnic province (in Braila’s region cohabit beside Romanians the following ethnic communities: Bulgarians, Greeks, Italians, Jews, Lipovenians, Roms, Tatars and Turks)
B) Free
Entries: max. 5.
The works should be sent by classic mail or by e-mail (A4, A3, 300 dpi, Jpeg) and must be accompanied by the author's biography.
Size: A4 (210 x 297 mm) - A3 (297 x 420 mm)
Technique: free
Deadline: November 20th, 2007
Prizes:
Great Prize – 1500 €; First Prize – 1000 €; Second Prize – 800 €; Third Prize – 500 €; 3 Special Prizes – 300 € (each).

24th Aydin Dogan prize-giving ceremony

The prize-giving ceremony of the 24th International Aydin Dogan Cartoon Competition was done on Nov 6, 2007 in Istanbul, Turkey. It was pleasure to meet Mr & Mrs Gatto from Italy, Mr & Mrs Boligan from Mexico, Mr & Mrs Nakahara from Japan, and Mr Shibu and his interpreter from India. Of course there were some other artists present at the ceremony while the First Prize winner Ms Marina Markevitch was absent due to her child's illness.
About the similarity of his cartoon, Mr Shibu and his interpreter told me that the artist lives in a remote place in India where he has very limited access to the world of cartoon and therefore has no info about previous creation of the cartoon.
