Theme: Wine and Love, Love and Wine 

The theme of this edition focuses on the eternal connection between wine and love – an extraordinary couple that time cannot destroy. Wine is often called the “nectar of the gods”, and love – the “elixir of the soul”, which emphasizes their power to inspire, create and unite. 

Wine and love are dizzying, intoxicating and turn life into a brighter and more exciting experience, leaving their bittersweet aftertaste. They invite us to enjoy the moment, to find the balance between passion and wisdom and to laugh at their unpredictability. 

This theme allows authors to interpret with a sense of humor and a creative eye the relationship between these two concepts – from romance and passion to irony and the comic aspects of life. 

We are waiting for your works, which through caricature will capture the magic of wine and love, combined in a unique creative experience!

Conditions for participation: 

1. The Cartoon Biennial is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world. 

2. Each participant must send at least one work with dimensions of 210/297 mm (A4 size) for the exhibition. 

3. Works can be in color or black and white. 

4. Participants must send their works no later than 31.07.2025. 

5. Cartoons sent by e-mail may be included in the exhibition, but do not participate in the competition and are not awarded. 

6. It is desirable that participants send: a photograph or cartoon and a short biography along with their works. 

7. An international jury will select five cartoonists who will be awarded the title "Master of Cartooning". 

8. Awarded cartoons are not returned. 

9. All other cartoons are returned if the author requests this in writing. 

10. Cartoonists included in the Exhibition Catalog will receive it free of charge.

Rules for the 12th Caneva Ride 2025, Italy: Love is blind

RULES "CANEVA RIDE" 2025

1 - THEME
Pro Castello di Caneva promotes the International Contest Caneva Ride! (Caneva Laughs!) for humorous and satirical cartoons on the theme "Love is blind".
2 - PARTICIPATION
The Contest is open to all cartoonists of the world from the age of 16. Participants can apply individually or in groups (if there are several authors, a referent for all communications with the Contest promoters should be indicated).
3 - TECHNIQUES
The contestants may send up to three unpublished works, realized by using any technique, color or black and white, which haven’t been awarded in other contests. The maximum format should be A4 (21 X 29.7 cm).
4 - TERMS AND DEADLINES
The works should be sent to canevaridecontest@gmail.com no later than midnight of 15 June 2025 in one of the following formats: .jpg, .tiff or .pdf with a resolution of 300 dpi, together with the registration form including personal data (first name, last name, full address, telephone number; if the contestant is under the age of 18, the name of a parent authorizing the participation needs to be added). 

The individual files should not exceed the weight of 5 MB. If more than one work is submitted, please send them one at a time.

The authors participating in the competition will transfer to Pro Castello the non-exclusive right to publish their works on any support for promotional purposes, without claiming copyrights.

The prizes will be paid out by September 2025.

Competition works can be made in black and white or colour or any technique, paper size A4. 

One author can submit up to 5 competition works.
The topic for this year is: UNIVERSE 

Please label each work on its back side with the following: the name of the competition work, author's data: name and surname, age, occupation, phone number and e-mail address.
Competition is devided into two categories according to the age. First: up to 15 years of age, second: over 15 years of age.
The deadline to post all competition works is 24 April 2025 (based on the post stamp date).
The jury nominated by the organizers, will award prizes for the best works in each category as followed:
Up to 15 years of age:
1st place: material prize, 2nd place: material prize, 3rd place: material prize.

Over 15 years of age:

1st place: financial reward 500 € 

2nd place: financial reward 300 € 

3rd place: financial reward 100 € 

If the winner is not able to attend prize-giving event, all deposit fees will be withdrawn from the winnings.
The jury has the right not to award any of the prizes or to propose only Honorable mention. 

The best works will be exhibited at a seperate exhibition as a part of the event “Days of Brezno 2025”.

World Water Day International Cartoon Exhibition 2025, China

World Water Day, celebrated annually on March 22nd, aims to raise public awareness of water conservation and strengthen water resource protection. 

1. PARTICIPATION 

The exhibition is open to all authors over the age of 18, regardless of nationality, gender or profession. 

2. THEME 

Water, Save Water, water security, City's Water, Glacier Preservation, ... 

3. ENTRIES 

Conditions of entry: 

A. Only digital artworks will be accepted: A4-A3 size, 300 dpi, jpeg, png. 

B. Entries can be either black and white or coloured. 

C. The works should be named as follows: name.surname.country.number (in case of more than one work). 

D. Maximum 5 entries may be submitted.

The 17th International Contest: Snail Graphic Humor 2025, Spain

1 Any professional or amateur artist can participate in this contest. 

2 The theme of the contest is the SNAIL. 

3 Participants may submit a maximum of 3 works. The author certifies that the works submitted are original, have not been awarded in any other competition and are not the result of artificial intelligence. 

4 The works (only in comic strips) can be made with any pictorial technique, with unique format of A-4 size (210 mm X 297 mm) or proportional. 

5 Works can be without words or, in case of having them, they must be in Catalan, Spanish or English. 

6 Only works sent to the email info@ilertravel.es will be accepted. You can send up to 3 images to that email which must have the format indicated in point 4. We will not accept any work sent by regular mail. 

7 The deadline for works admission ends on April 11th 2025. 

8 The email sent must include, besides the work, the name and surname, address, telephone, short curriculum vitae and photograph or/and an author’s caricature. 

9 The winning work will recieve a single prize of 1,017 euros (amount on which the corresponding tax deduction will be applied); and a trip to Lleida for two people and, if so expressed by the winner, two nights of accommodation in the city to attend the award ceremony that will take place on May 23th, 2025, coinciding with the opening of the XLIV Aplec del Caragol. It is recommended not to modify the dates of the trip since the expenses that any change of the agreed dates will be borne by the winner. 

10 The decision of the jury will be unappealable. 

11 The Jury will be composed by people representig the Fecoll, IlerTravel and Humoràlia. 

12 The decision of the Jury will be notified to the winner during the last two weeks of April or the first two weeks of May 2025 by electronic mail and it will be published later to websites and social media by Humoràlia and Fecoll (www.aplec.org). 

13 The author of the winning work will have to give the original work in hand on the award ceremony, or by certified mail properly protected, to the organization of the contest (if the author cannot come to receive the award in person). In case the work is made, totally or partially, by digital tools, a copy signed by hand by the author must be sent. The address of the Federació de Colles de l’Aplec del Caragol is: C/Obradors, 2. 25002 Lleida. 

14 The selected words –with a maximum of 50– chosen by the jury, they will be exhibited in the Fecoll’s head office or, if necessary, in other facilities. 

15 The electronic version of the works can be visited on a virtual gallery that will be published afterwards on the websites of Humoràlia and Fecoll. 

6 The organization reserves the right to spread and reproduce the winning work and the others selected, only during the promotion of the Aplec and this same contest in future calls, without express permission of the author or authors, and without this representing any obligation to the artist. 

17 Participation in the contest implies full acceptance and no reservation of these bases. Any doubt that may arise will be solved by the Jury.

It is open to students of all grades and types of schools and to professional artists from all over the world. They are required to submit one or more works developing the themes of peace, tolerance, fight against any form of racism and of defense of human rights. 

Each competitor may take part in two ways: 

1) JPG format max 1,5 Mb one or more pictures or works of visual art. 

2) Send short films and cartoons of maximum 5 minute length that could also be forwarded in compressed format. The videos can be shot/made in the most common formats (AVI, MPEG, Real Video, QuickTime, Video for Windows ecc.).

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK 

On each work it is necessary to indicate full name, name of school and grade/class (if students), telephone and e-mail address, city, country. Single students will also have to specify their school address, their age and the class attended. Competitors implicitly authorize the school to reproduce and use their works in the catalogue and in different media for no-profit activities. The organization cannot be held responsible in case of theft, damage or loss of the works. Works will not be returned or retransmitted to their authors. A catalogue will be printed, reproducing a wide selection of the works received after/following up, which later will be sent to competitors free of charge, previous formal request. 

THE JURY 

The jury of experts in communication, art critics and representatives of the school world will select 6 works among those received within the expiry date, according to their development of proposed themes and their effectiveness. 

PRIZES 

The following six prizes, will be awarded according to categories: 

- BEST WORK - Kindergarten and Primary Schools: € 300,00; 

- BEST WORK - Lower Secondary Schools: € 300,00; 

- BEST WORK - Secondary High Schools: € 300,00;

The 9th Alanya International Cartoon Competition 2025, Turkey

9TH ALANYA INTERNATIONAL

CARTOON COMPETITION SPECIFICATIONS

The International Mediterranean Cartoon Competition, which was first held in 2001 and last held in 2008, will be reorganized for the 9th time in 2025 - after 17 years - under its new name of Alanya International Cartoon Competition, in cooperation with Alanya Municipality and Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV). 

SUBJECT OF THE COMPETITION: LIVING IN A WORLD WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE 

The Turkish Language Association has determined the concept of 2024 as “crowded loneliness”. While the world is preparing for a new order with artificial intelligence, it can be considered normal for the old people of the planet to struggle. Since we are now closer neighbors with our smart devices supported by artificial intelligence, we may feel lonely in crowds. Because technological developments that are accelerating day by day negatively affect our human relations the most. 

Although cultures are different, we know that neighborliness is highly valued in every society. In the old world where technology did not take over our lives to this extent, weren’t our neighbors the closest proof that we were not alone in crowds? 

Artificial intelligence-supported technologies are an inseparable part of our lives today and they don’t seem to have any intention of slowing down. As the old people of the new order, we continue to live in a world with artificial intelligence - with its pros and cons - and to get used to our new neighbors in this new world a little more every day. 

RULES OF THE COMPETITION: 

1. The competition is for all cartoonists from all over the world. 

2. Cartoons sent to the competition may have been published in any medium before, but musn’t have received an award from another competition before. 

3. Each competitor can submit a maximum of three cartoons. 

4. Cartoons that will send to the competition must be maximum size 30x40cm. 

5. Participation in the competition can be made either by mail or digitally through https://ulakbel.alanya.bel.tr/WebBasvuru/cartoon#/ , depending on the competitor's preference. 

6. The delivery address for cartoons sent by post is, “ALTAV - Tosmur Mah. İbrahim Bilgen Cad. No:8 PK:07400 Alanya/Antalya-Turkey”. 

7. Cartoons to be sent digitally via https://ulakbel.alanya.bel.tr/WebBasvuru/cartoon#/ must be in A4 size, 300dpi resolution and JPEG format. The competition jury is not responsible for files sent outside the specified specifications or files that are not opened. 

8. Those who will participate in the competition by mail must attach a short CV with a photo, including their name-surname, e-mail address and telephone number to the file they will send. 

9. Cartoons that are determined to be produced with artificial intelligence will be considered out of the competition. Even if a cartoon that is later understood to be a product of artificial intelligence wins, it will be considered invalid. 

10. Cartoons must be delivered to the relevant address or uploaded to https://ulakbel.alanya.bel.tr/WebBasvuru/cartoon#/ by one of the methods specified above, by April 01, 2025 at the latest. 

11. The competition jury will meet on April 07, 2025 and the competition results and details of the award ceremony will be announced on the www.altav.org.tr website on April 08, 2025. 

12. The top three cartoonists who win the competition will be presented with a roundtrip flight ticket and a one-week hotel stay in Alanya with their guests as a gift from ALTAV. 

13. The cartoons deemed worthy of being exhibited by the competition jury will be exhibited within the scope of the Alanya Culture-Art and Tourism Festival, which will be held between May 23-25, 2025, where the award ceremony will be held. 

14. If an album of the cartoons exhibited by ALTAV is published, a free copy of the album will also be sent to the addresses of the owners of the works. 

15. The cartoons sent to the competition will not be returned to the owners of the works. All cartoons sent to the competition, whether they win or not, may be used by ALTAV in cultural activities. The copyrights of the submitted works belong to the artist, and the owner of the works consents to the use of these works in products such as souvenirs sold for public benefit by ALTAV and Alanya Municipality. 

16. The participants in the competition are deemed to have accepted these terms from the outset.

The Anatolian Cartoonists Association, based in Bursa, Turkey, dissolves

Announcement to the Cartoon World, Turkish and International Cartoonists

Founded on February 28, 2007, and based in Bursa, the Anatolian Cartoonists Association has officially ceased its operations following the unanimous decision made during the 7th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting held on December 21, 2024. 

All official procedures regarding the closure of the association have been completed. The association's bank and postal accounts have been closed. The remaining balance of 2,175 Turkish Lira and 10 kuruş in the association's treasury has been donated to the Leukemia Foundation for Children (LÖSEV). 

On this occasion, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to: 

* All members of the Board of Directors and members who have voluntarily served the association from its inception to its closure, 

* All companies, associations, public institutions, organizations, and their employees who supported and collaborated with the association, 

* All cartoonists and cartoon enthusiasts who contributed to and supported the art of cartooning. 

We hereby announce that following the dissolution of the Anatolian Cartoonists Association, no individual or entity is authorized to carry out any transactions on behalf of the association. Aphorism:
• In this category authors participate with 10 aphorisms at maximum, printed in three copies, completed with code, particulars about the author, and set in sealed envelope.
• The authors are allowed to participate with more works, each as group of 10 (ten) aphorisms, each group with particular code.
Caricature:
• In this category, authors can participate with 3 caricatures, at maximum. 

The technique is on their own choice, and dimensions A/4.
• Each caricature should contain author's information on the back.
